Write it first on your heart and then write it down in your journal.  When you put it on paper, you're more committed to it.  Share your dreams with wise ones and ask what steps to take next.

This goes with a prayer to each of you, that all that is in your heart bursts forth in God's perfect timing!

Dreams Do Come True
Sometimes when our dreams aren't coming true, we need to aim even higher. Or sometimes, we give up too easily!  Here are some things to consider when reaching for our goals.

  1. Even before taking action, you need to know if your dream is a good one for you.  Ask yourself, if I attain this dream, will it enrich my spirit?  Your dream should not only look to material needs but should always be in line with your ethics and values.  Does your dream benefit yourself as well as your family?  For example, if your dream was to have an advancement in career but it would take your attention and caring away from your young children, you would need to weigh your priorities once more and see if it's a dream you should redefine.

  2. Know that sometimes, dreams don't come easy.  Renew your mind to give you strength for the long haul.  Always think positive.  Affirm yourself everyday that you can.

  3. Attaining your dream requires self-motivation, perseverance and discipline.  It also entails succeeding at little goals that you apply to yourself that are like little steps to reach your target.

  4. There are so many possibilities.  You just need to know where to look.  While you're waiting for those dreams to be fulfilled, you need to improve yourself and learn how to be the best you can be.  Why not look for a scholarship?  For current opportunities, click here.

  5. Gather support from those who know what is best for you and who can give you some good advice and feedback. would also be profitable to learn from those who have had success in life. 

  6. See what you need to do for God to give you success in all your endeavors.  Read 1 Chronicles 22:13, Joshua 1:7-8, Deuteronomy 28.

 

Free Craft: Plastic Bottle Chair

Stop!  Don't throw those soda bottles away!  With a little effort, you can actually sit on them!  Here's how:

1.  Gather as many bottles as you can. 

2. Clean and dry them.

3. Tie them tightly together with string.  Make sure the string won't slide off!

4. Test the bottles if the number of bottles is enough to hold you without crumbling.  You can add as many bottles as you want.

5. Cover the whole thing with hemp, jute, muslin (katsa) or any thick malleable fabric like "abaca" so it looks like a small stool. You can even sew matching cloth together as an artsy cover!

Variation: You may use old tarpaulines and sew these together so the bottles fit snugly inside!

Volunteer for the Elections

It's time once again to show our love for our country by getting out there and protecting our votes!  Here are some ways to help ensure clean and honest elections:

  1. Be a Namfrel volunteer - Give your time and energy for a lifetime cause - protecting democracy.  The National Citizen's Movement for Free Elections has doing this since 1983. Contact them at (632)4847590 or click here

  2. Be a PPCRV volunteer - The Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV) is a parish-based, non-partisan, lay movement to join.  You can register as a volunteer on their site and also watch voter's information videos there.  click here

  3. Pray for the elections - We believe in the power of prayer and if more people will join hands in prayer, the more successful the whole process will be.

  4. Be sure to vote!  We didn't want to end without reminding you that your vote counts!
