Dear Friend,

Isn't it amazing how in each year, changes come in the form of days, months and seasons.  Time goes so fast and here in the tropics, the summer season is already making itself felt.

Even people have "seasons of life" wherein they experience times of joy (summer), changes (autumn), slowing down (winter) and renewal (spring).  If you were a season, what would you be?

If you have not yet heard Nicole Nordemann's song "Every Season", we suggest you take a listen.  It will help you reflect on which season you are and help you prepare for the coming season.  It's one of the most beautiful songs you'll ever hear.  Click here.

"There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven" - Ecclesiastes 3:1

A Season of Preparation

return to meFor all things of value, one must always prepare in the right way with a right mind and heart.  Lent is a time for all Christians to prepare for Good Friday and Easter.

It is a time of renewal and remembrance of how Jesus gave His life for us.  Yet the season can just easily pass us by if we are not mindful of it.

Here are some ways to make it a grace-filled season.

1. Have the family celebrate the Lords' Day.  These are  prayers for all Christians to be done on Saturday evenings. Click here

2. Make a Lenten Calendar filled with activities that will make you grow closer to God.  Remember "Draw near to God and He will draw near to you." (James 4:8) The site Xt3 made one with readings, reflections as well as simple things to do like March 22's suggested activity, "smile at a stranger".  Click here to view

3. Read an inspirational book or movie instead of the regular entertainment you're used to.  Meditate on your life lessons.  Simple Truth's library contains several slideshows and sayings that will put you in the right direction.  Click here

4. Lent is a good time to give up not-so-good things and to adopt better ways of living.  Some give up their favorite food (like chocolate) and save up the amount they would have spent on that to help others.  Be sure to have the right kind of fasting, the kind that is pleasing in His sight (Isaiah 58:6).

5. Give to worthy causes.  We suggest you round up these items in case you can spare them.  He Cares Foundation Scholars need: school supplies, shoes, school bags, umbrellas, raincoats, socks, white t-shirts and uniforms.  The Justice Cecilia Muñoz Palma High School (formerly Payatas) is in need of books, magazines, videos, computers.  All donations are accepted in all Papemelroti branches (label them clearly ex. "For: He Cares Foundation).

6. Spend a quiet Holy Week away from the crowds and beaches.  Spend in prayer and communion with God through church retreats and celebrations.

Free Craft: Bubbly Summer Fun
Summer is almost upon us!  Time for fun in the sun!  Here's a fun outdoor play activity you can do with children.  It's a nice summer day refresher!

You Need:
1/2 cup (500 mL) liquid dishwater detergent
4 1/2 cups water
4 tbsp or 60 mL glycerin* (available in drugstores)
container with a lid
old wire hanger

To Make:

Mix all the ingredients together gently in the container.  Remove the foam on the top to use.

For the bubble maker, form a circle out of the wire of the hanger.

*Most bubble recipes don't use glycerin but this makes your bubble last longer.

*Thanks to Calyssa for her bubble picture.

Every year we try to help Mother Earth a little bit by easing off our consumption of power.  During that hour, we turn off all our lights, air conditioners, fans and all other electronic devices.

The early beginnings of Earth Hour started way back in 2004 with WWF Australia thinking of new ways to confront the issue of climate change.

Reseller's Corner:

Displaying Products

Display is a key element in your success as a retailer.  An effective display is able to highlight the product's value and purpose.  Ideally your products should have sufficient space and adequate, clear signage with its price in case your customers are not the inquisitive type.

Group products that match in look and function.  This way, customers can conveniently see all the available products in one section and not have to hunt all over for what they need (or might need).
