Our Designers

Patricia Joy (Patsy) Alejandro Paternopatsy's.JPG (3717 bytes)

The eldest of the five siblings, Patsy started the unique brown paper stationery line for papemelroti at a time when being environment-friendly was not as popular as it is now. Today, she works full time for papemelroti, and continues to take care of the stationery line. A graduate of Interior Design from the University of the Philippines, Patsy describes herself as a frustrated artist because she wants to have more time for design but is often busy with more practical office work. Her favorite techniques are collage and crayola etching, which she says are most forgiving of mistakes.  To visit Patsy's website, click here.

Peggy Margaret Alejandro Pilapil

Peggy is a graduate of Architecture from the University of the Philippines. Although she still does some architectural design, most of the time she does designs for papemelroti. One of her favorite themes is friendship and she likes including family and friends in her illustrations for gift wrappers and stationery. Peggy also sculpts originals for figurines, picture frames, and other decorative accessories. Her "Elyse" figurine is named after her daughter. To visit her website, click here.

Imelda (Meldy) Alejandro Fider

Meldy, a graduate of Business Management from the University of the Philippines, is the obvious choice for managing the papemelroti branches. But she also does a lot of product development and she has a talent for making products from whatever raw materials are on hand. Meldy specializes in sculpting whimsical figures in a childlike style. Her "Mark" and "Isabel" figurines are named after her children.

Robert John A. Alejandro

A graduate of Fine Arts from the University of the Philippines, Robert is an award winning graphic designer. He is a founding member of Illustrador ng Kabataan (INK), an organization of children’s book illustrators. His varied projects include design and illustration for books, magazines, and advertisements as well as designs for shopping malls, retail shops and entertainment centers like Eureka at SM Mega Mall. For papemelroti, Robert makes designs for stationery, bags, figurines and a variety of decorative accessories, often using his popular "Official" characters and Filipiniana themes.  He was once the host of the popular television show "Art Is-Kool" on Channel 7, a children's art workshop on tv!  At present, he is also one of the correspondents for "The Probe Team" with Che Che Lazaro, Channel 2, Wednesdays at 11:30 p.m.  To visit Robert's website, click here.

Christina (Tina) A. Alejandro

The youngest in the family, Tina started "working" with papemelroti when she was 7 years old. At that time, she was already gift wrapping for customers, using the floor as her table because the counter was too high for her to reach. Today, she makes designs for a wide range of products, making illustrations for the stationery line and sculpting original figurines. She often draws children, teddy bears, flowers and cats, her favorite animals. Tina is in charge of designing personalized orders and also often designs the papemelroti seasonal displays.  To visit Tina's website, click here.
